A-OK! November 15, 2008 Gem (Maine) I can understand why folks who are most familiar or most comfortable with a pedal that re-creates the feel of what can be found on a real piano might not be thrilled with this. But I just needed something to be able to get a sustain effect out of an old Yamaha DX21 keyboard. This product did the job and works great.
Not Compatible October 18, 2008 Anonymous I don't recommend this pedal for use with any Casio keyboard. I read all of the reviews, and even after trying all the tricks people recommended the pedal still doesn't work properly. Plugging in with the keyboard off or on, turning off and back on after plugged in, holding the pedal down when turning on...none of it works. It sustains every note unless the pedal is depressed. If you buy it for a Casio, expect to have to return it.
Not compatible with my keyboard October 17, 2008 Sacha V. Skaggs I have a Casio ctk496 I tried to use this pedal with. Although I was told it was compatible the polarity was reversed and there was no switch to change it. Overall quality seemed to be good though. Just make sure it works with your keyboard.
Great pedal September 9, 2008 D. Randall This pedal works great with our keyboard. It allows my children to continue to learn the basics of piano without having to purchase a piano.
works fine if mounted May 17, 2008 Peter Baum (Onset, MA USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm using this with a Yamaha YPT-300 and it works fine except that the pedal is very light-weight. I kept having problems finding it with my foot or having it move. I found a piece of wood 9"x16"x3/4" (23 cm x 41 cm x 2 cm) and mounted the pedal to the board with double sided carpet tape. (Glue would work too.) I even put little rubber feet on the other side of the board. This setup works perfectly. The YPT-300 senses the position of the mode switch when it is first turned on to determine if switch closed or switch open means sustain. This means it doesn't matter with the YPT300 that the switch will not be accessible when mounted to the board. Check your keyboard to verify this function and if it doesn't make this check, be sure the pedal mode switch is in the right position before gluing!
