Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The American Classic® line combines tradition and Vic Firth style. With bold designs for fuller sound, the Classics are turned from select hickory ? a dense wood with little flex for a more pronounced sound. Hickory is also capable of withstanding a great deal of shock, making it highly durable. The wood tips are deeply back-cut for intensified cymbal response. The nylon tips are similar in size and shape to their wood counterparts, providing enhanced performance and a feel closer to their original wood tip models. Nylon tips are the most durable and brightest sounding on cymbals.

4 out of 5 stars Nice.   July 14, 2010
N. Hoang
I don't play the drums.
I bought these when one of the sticks that came with guitar hero drum kit was lost.
They are comfortable and have endured hours of guitar hero playing well.
Nice quality and smooth.

4 out of 5 stars Vic Firth American Classic 5A Drum Sticks   June 15, 2010
Rob (In the woods)
These were good drumsticks. I used Vic Firth sticks for a long time, and they were always good. These particular sticks performed very well. They were 5A's, so they were lightweight, easy to grip, and were very easy to move around. When you play drums fast, it helps to have a stick that is not too heavy to use. These also had a lacquer coating, so they had a good grip. My only problem with these were that they had wooden tips. I learned that wooden tips seem to come apart and shred after a while, but only if you're hitting cymbals, not if you're just hitting drums. If you decide to buy these sticks, buy the kind with a nylon tip, they will last longer.

3 out of 5 stars One of the drumsticks broke   June 5, 2010
Lee G. Boettcher (Buffalo, TX United States)
I'm sure these are very nice drumsticks, but one of them broke soon after the teenager started using them. I think he needs the cheapest ones I can buy and lots of them.

5 out of 5 stars Great cheap replacement   June 3, 2010
JMac
I can't speak to whether the sticks are professional quality. But as a replacement for the Guitar Hero drum set, they work great. Slightly heavier weight gives it a solid feel.

5 out of 5 stars I use it for Rockband   May 15, 2010
A. Le (Kingwood, TX. United States)
I use these drum sticks for playing Rockband and it works just fine. I cannot comment on how they perform for real drummers with real drums. But for playing Rockband it is fine. Thanks.
