| Customer Reviews: Nice sticks March 5, 2010 Zachary Portwood 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
As a disclaimer: I'm not an actual drummer; I use these sticks to play Rock Band, but that is not to say that I don't have an understanding on them.
I've had these sticks for around three months now and I can say that they are nice sticks. I don't play drums, but they are worlds better than the cheap match-sticks that you get with the Rock Band drum set. I have yet to break them and they feel sturdy.
I did notice a few things though. The sticks were chipped before I got them. Not on the tips and they didn't look like they had been used, but the shaft of the stick had noticeable chunks missing. It hasn't affected the sturdiness of the sticks, but it did concern me a bit. The paint has also worn off onto my Rock Band Drum kit. I see black marks on all of the heads. It isn't so bad, but if that annoys you then you might want to look for unpainted sticks.
Vic Firth Nova Hickory Drumsticks, Black 5A February 10, 2010 Brian 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great product. I've been drumming since I was 3yrs old and I gotta say that Vic Firth has proven it's quality to me over all these years. Great tone and feel with equal and balanced weight between sticks. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars in this review is because it actually cost LESS than the shipping fees. Was great Business overall though. I do recommend.
Durable Stick for Practicing November 9, 2009 Tyler Hausen (Iowa, US) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This stick is quite durable and is good for practicing. For me, these sticks lasted for close to 3 weeks of daily playing before they broke. Only problem I've had is that the black paint on this sticks wear off onto the drum heads, but other than that these are a good deal.
Great for casual play or practice sticks... May 8, 2009 Andrew P. 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought these along with a pair of red Nova 5B's. If you are a casual or beginning player, or you just need a decent set of sticks for practicing without having to use your expensive uber-sticks, these are great. And they feel REALLY good in my hands. I was amazed at the feel after busting up pairs of no name cheap sticks that came with my used set. My complaint is that the paint that is used scratches off the tips after hitting the cymbals a while. Plus I have scratched them up playing on the sides of the cymbals. But they are good for the price. I suggest buying them in bulk if you go through a lot of sticks, though.
