Designed for outdoor applications, the Control 80 Series Landscape speakers from JBL provide excellent full-range sound quality and 360 degree coverage. Its compact size allows the speaker to blend into landscaping and shrubbery, while a tough polyethylene enclosure resists abuse from lawn care equipment and the elements, and the enclosure color extends throughout the material so the speaker will maintain color even when scraped or scratched.
The two-piece enclosure is designed to opened with a twist for wiring and installation, then to close securely. The bottom base section can be pre-installed, then wired to the top section of the enclosure at your convenience. When assembled, the base section becomes a fully isolated chamber, keeping the speaker and transformer protected from moisture. Multiple locations on the bottom and sides are provided for mounting the exterior gland nut, and a second gland nut is positioned between the base and the top speaker section, effectively battening down the hatches against inclement environmental conditions. The included gland nuts maintain a watertight seal when used with round jacketed cable with a diameter between 0.16" and 0.35" (4 - 9 mm).
All external hardware is stainless steel, and the powder-coated stainless steel speaker grille resists rust. Three extended tabs are molded into the base section so the Control 88M can be secured to the ground using stakes (not included), or the anchoring method of your choosing.
