French organist and composer Félix-Alexandre Guilmant (1837-1911), served as Professor of Organ at the Paris Conservatoire and served as mentor to a young Marcel Dupré. While accomplished and prolific, Guilmant wrote almost exclusively for the organ, including: "Pièces dans différents styles" (18 books); "L'organiste pratique" (12 books); Eighteen "Pièces Nouvelles;" and "L'Organiste liturgique" (10 books).
