Experience the Authentic Sound of the Past

Step back in time with the Ems Medieval Drum 13-By-13-Inch, meticulously designed to replicate the traditional military drums of yesteryear. This cylindrical drum boasts two heads, one with a snare, which adds a unique vibration and rattle to its rich, resonant sound.

Crafted with Attention to Detail

The Medieval style drums are made with two, rope-tuned, skin heads that are rolled and stitched with the snare on the top head. This attention to detail ensures an authentic sound and appearance that will transport you back to the Renaissance era.

A Timeless Instrument

In England, during the Renaissance, side drums like this were known as a tabor. In France, during the 18th century, they were known as tambours, or tabret, and were well associated with the political resistance and rebellion against the French monarchy. Today, this style of snare drum is still used in parades and processions.

Modern Convenience, Authentic Sound

While the original drums were made from solid timber, making them quite heavy, these modern replicas are fashioned from attractive half-inch laminates for strength and light-weight. This means you can enjoy the authentic sound of the past without the burden of heavy equipment.

Everything You Need to Get Started

Each drum comes with a pair of drum sticks and a brass hook to help suspend the drum from your belt or strap while playing. Whether you're a seasoned musician or a history enthusiast, this Ems Medieval Drum 13-By-13-Inch is the perfect choice for anyone looking to experience the thrill of playing a traditional instrument.

SPECIAL NOTE ON STRINGS:
There is no warranty on strings. Manufacturers recommend that you change the strings on your instrument as soon as you receive it. Your instrument has completed a long journey before it ever begins the final leg to your home. During this time the elements affect the strings and may shorten their lifespan. It occasionally happens that a string will fail during that final leg of the journey. Therefore, it is recommended that you purchase a replacement set of strings and consider changing your strings soon after it arrives. If you are a student you may want to change your strings every 3-4 months. If you are a rock star you may need to change your strings every week. If you store your instrument, you should consider changing the strings when you pick it up again.

Please note:
For safety during shipping, the manufacturer don't tune the instruments before sending them to customers. Return policy A 15% handling charge is levied against all authorized returns except those due to our error. Unauthorized returns are subject to a 35% handling charge.
