This an eight-course lute for the right-handed player. There are 4 nylon wound strings and 11 rectified nylon strings in seven courses of two strings and a single chaterelle, for the highest sounding string. The bowl is constructed of 25 scalloped staves that offer a dramatic appearance; alternating between the deep black colored ebony and the light cream-colored lacewood with white pinstripes between. The thin, solid spruce, soundboard has a natural finish, and a thin ebony purfling accenting the edge. Internal bracing supports the soundboard and the intricately carved rosette sound-hole. The mustache is lacewood and the top bridge of ebony adds elegance and strength. The neck is lacewood, with a solid ebony fingerboard. There are 8 nylon frets tied to the neck and 4 partial wood frets inlaid to the soundboard. The sharply angled head has 15 ebony pegs and is decorated with leaf-and-vine inlay on the underside. There is an end-peg, to which you can attach your own shoulder strap. INCLUDED with this lute is the -Learning To Play The Lute- book by Frank DeGroodt, and a heavily padded gig bag, with shoulder strap, hand grip and front pocket.

What is BLEMISHED?
Product codes ending in "-1(S)" or "-2(S)" are blemished. These products are new and unused with superficial blemishes that may include, blisters in the finish, scratches, dents, stains, discoloration, rust or pitting on metals, imperfect glazes, non-structural repairs such as putty in nail holes, or other surface marks. A "-1(S)" product has minor blemishes and a "-2(S)" product has moderate blemishes and/or minor repairs. The irregularity does not affect the playability or sound quality of the instrument. Product codes ending in "-3(S)" and "-4(S)" are also new and unused, but came to manufacturer needing repairs.
