Even Stronger and Longer Than Classic Ahead Sticks

Ahead MAXX drumsticks are sure to please the heaviest hitters on the planet. They're even more durable than classic Ahead sticks — which themselves last 6–10 times longer than wood sticks —and have extra reach for heart-stopping backbeats, crashes, and fills. Ahead's stronger 7075 aluminum cores and Vibration Control System provide less shock and more rebound than traditional sticks, making the MAXX series easier on the wrists and safer on cymbals. Sticks are machined to a tight tolerance of +/- 1 gram for perfect matching with every pair.

Ahead drumsticks: ahead of their time

Drummer and engineer Rick Grossman recognized a trend in sporting goods in the early 1990s. Traditional wood baseball bats and hockey sticks were being replaced with lightweight, durable aluminum alternatives. Grossman wondered if the same technology could be applied to drumsticks. Grossman developed a prototype that his company eventually sold to Bob Kasha, and thus, the Ahead company was born. Ahead drumsticks have found favor among metal artists and heavy hitters across the globe, and today can be seen in the hands of Lars Ulrich, Mick Fleetwood, Tommy Lee, and any number of drummers that roll through Sweetwater's doors.
