Bach’s Most Modular Trombone Yet

Significant innovations in brasswind design don’t happen overnight. But with the Bach A47X Professional Trombone, the F attachment will never be the same. This trigger trombone features Bach’s innovative Artisan X Wrap design that eliminates changes in resistance when you’re using the trigger. Beyond that, you get a 1-piece, detachable 8.5-inch yellow brass bell, and yellow brass slides. The A47X also includes three threaded leadpipes so you can change the character of your horn at a moment’s notice. Take advantage of the modular design and customize the instrument to fit your unique needs like a glove. The Bach A47X’s design equips it to push the limits of performance from the very first note; all it needs is a player.

At Sweetwater, we think of the Bach A47X as the trombone for any player. That may seem like a bold claim, but this horn more than lives up to the hype. It has a 1-piece, 8.5-inch yellow brass bell that sings with bright resonance. But if you’ve got a symphonic gig coming up, just detach the bell and load up your rose brass bell. As if that’s not enough, your purchase includes three threaded leadpipes that you can deploy to customize your sound further. Want to know more about the Bach A47X professional trombone? Rethinking the F attachment

The trombone was changed forever with the introduction of the F attachment in 1839. However, the additional range came with the cost of increased wind resistance — until now. Bach’s team of expert brass designers spent years at the drawing table identifying the areas where traditional attachment designs constrict airflow. The fruit of their labors is an innovative attachment design dubbed “Artisan X Wrap.” This groundbreaking design allows the Bach A47X to deliver the same free-blowing feel no matter how often you’re using the trigger. It’s a difference that you must experience to believe.

Bach: the professional choice

Often copied but never truly imitated, Bach trombones are the choice of players worldwide. Vincent Bach founded Bach brass in 1918 after a mouthpiece repair went wrong. By 1928, Bach introduced trombones into his lineup. Bach’s famous trombone designs stemmed from a combination of his musical know-how and engineering talent. He successfully identified what he needed from a trombone and set about creating an instrument that could solve the unique issues experienced by trombone players — and he never looked back. More than a century later, Bach instruments are proudly crafted in Elkhart, Indiana, to the same lofty standards as those from the ’20s and ’30s.
